Welcome to Correiative.com the online portfolio of Troy Correia.
I will be going back to school full time at Ex'pression starting December 2008 and as I have new work finished I will be updating the site.
Background:
In October of 2006 I got hired on at SCEA's Playstation division working in the Format QA Offline department. My job consisted of certification testing and compatibility testing of peripherals for all of the games being released on Sony’s current line of gaming systems. I tested everything from kid’s games to first person shooters. I gained a reputation for being able to play any style of game well, and was often asked to test the hardest difficulty settings because the department leads knew that I could complete them while still looking for bugs and testing the limits of the game. I loved my job at Sony, but my opportunities for advancement were limited, so when my contract ended in October 2007 I decided to move on.
In December of 2007 I started work for Say Design as a tester on flash games that were being developed for the Sony Mylo. Tester quickly turned into Game Designer, based on suggestions and ideas that I put into the first set of games. My producers continued to give me more responsibility on the projects and within two months I was designing the games, doing the art work, testing the builds, and assisting the producer with other tasks. Aside from the Mylo project, I have also worked on breaking down games, creating movement lists and storyboards for a flash MMO project, concept designs, testing, helping to balancing games, and image breakdowns for a puzzle game.
